Temuera Morrison MNZM, (born 26 December 1960), is an actor from New Zealand who initially became well-known in his native New Zealand for his role as Dr. Hone Ropata in the soap opera Shortland Street. He garnered critical acclaim for starring as Jake The Muss Heke in the 1994 film Once Were Warriors and its 1999 sequel What Becomes of the Broken Hearted?. Outside of New Zealand, Morrison is best known for his work in the Star Wars multimedia franchise, notably as Jango Fett and his clone offspring, including Boba Fett and the clone troopers. He debuted as Jango Fett in the 2002 Star Wars movie Attack of the Clones. Morrison voiced Boba Fett in the 2004 re-release of The Empire Strikes Back, various Star Wars video games, and portrayed Boba fully in the second season of The Mandalorian (2019–present) and the spin-off show The Book of Boba Fett (2021–2022). In 2022, he had a recurring role in the black ops thriller series Echo 3. He provided the voice for Chief Tui, Moana's father, in the Disney film Moana (2016), and for his role as Tom Curry, father of Arthur Curry, in Aquaman (2018), The Flash (2023), and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023). Early life Morrison was born on 26 December 1960 in the town of Rotorua, on the North Island of New Zealand. Hana Morrison (née Stafford) and Laurie Morrison, a musician, are his parents. He is Māori, of Te Arawa (Ngāti Whakaue) and Tainui (Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāti Rarua) whakapapa, and also has Scottish and Irish ancestry. He is related to performer Taini Morrison (sister) and musician Sir Howard Morrison (uncle). Morrison completed his secondary schooling at Wesley College (Auckland) and Western Heights High School (Rotorua).
